JENNA BELEVENDER
I practice photography as an extension of my everyday life. I want my images to feel almost tactile; invite my audience to stop and touch what they might otherwise have missed. Above all, my emphasis will always remain in portraying my subjects with simplicity and honesty.
Originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I moved to the Detroit area about eight years ago to continue my education in the arts. I began my study in photography with the intent of going into journalism and the skill of taking photos as an added bonus for my resume. As it turned out, photography, particularly in the style of Cartier-Bresson and Robert Frank, became my passion.
